Early Intervention Treatments
The American Association of Orthodontist has recommended that your child be seen an orthodontist by the age of 7. Many orthodontic problems are easier to correct if they are found early, and at this age issues with emerging teeth and jaw growth can be detected by the orthodontist.
Orthodontic intervention is necessary when among other signs, there are crowding of teeth, improper alignment of bite, excessive spacing between teeth, crooked or protruding teeth. Early orthodontic treatment can help reduce the time a patient will have to wear braces, by creating and preserving space for erupting permanent teeth. Also, early treatment can help with alignment of dental arches and jaws.
